From Zhuhai airport to Macau
Tags:
Hi all,
I have a friend arriving to Zhuhai Airport this Friday around 6pm and she's coming to Macau straight away. I wonder what are the best options for her, if taking a cab to Gongbei or try the Henqin border directly to the Cotai strip, where I can pick her up. Have you ever crossed this Lotus Bridge border? Someone said in the Macau forum that it opens from 9am to 7pm. Any confirmation?
Also, can anyone write down Gongbei and Henqin's borders names in Chinese for me to pass to this friend?
Thanks a lot for your help. See you in the Macau side of this site!!

Hi Dr. Poi.
According to my experience it will be better come to Gongbei instead to any other gate.
On the other side as I know is forbiden cross the Lotus Bridge border. It is only allowed for goods transportation, means people alone can not cross that one.
Gongbei = 拱北关口
The Hengqin and Lotus
The Hengqin and Lotus borders have been reopened to foot traffic.

Si if the border closes at 8pm, your best choice dr poi is to take a taxi from Airport to Hengqin (which more or less on the way), then peacefully cross the border :)

Hi, thanks to everybody for all your answers. I love the Zhuhai forum, much more active than the Macau one!
JJ, I'm really thinking about that. But I want to be sure it's suitable, cause it will be a friend of mine, a girl, alone, that will have to do it, and it's her first time in Zhuhai (she lives in Beijing and speaks some basic Mandarin).
Cheers

The Cotai Crossing/Lotus
The Cotai Crossing/Lotus bridge is really convenient as long as she can get there before 8pm. Agree you'll need to get somebody to write HengQin Port in Chinese for her but then it should be really easy. There were no other foreigners in the dedicated line when I crossed last Sunday. You then catch a shuttle bus for 3 kuai (money in the box - no change given). Althogether with waiting time, about 30 minutes to cross. At Cotai your friend has three choices - public bus; free shuttle bus to the Venetian or taxi.
