The only place that I was able to buy big size shoes in Zhuhai was in a little shop near GLV language school, on the Cultural Plaza in Ningxi.
Underground did not work for me: waited a long long time for the guys to go and find my size to realize finally they did not have any, haha!

I know that you can find size 48/49 at the shop J.J. was talking about (2nd or 3rd floor) but they are all dress shoes. If you're looking for sneakers or athletic shoes I think you'll be better off ordering on-line.

what about for girls? 40-ish?

I wear 48 and only place I found some, was the underground clothing area which is located under the big old round building just after the first set of lights after coming through the tunnel, towards Gongbei (going South) from Ninxi. There is a large shoe shop there . I saw many large sizes. I bought 3 pairs.Caterpillar etc..(of course they are genuine !!!)

I've still had no luck, although I have a pair coming in from England next week, so I've been holding out for those :)

There was one show shop in Hita Plaza that offered to MAKE any size I needed, but these are also dress-shoes as Orlog says. Orlog, have you managed to gt stuff delivered OK that you ordered on-line? I'm thinking a shoe-buying expedition to Hong Kong might be in order!

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with delivery. Its sort of a running joke that the first time I ordered shoes, they arrived I opened the box and there was a big "made in china" tag on them. Good luck.

add one more seeker - my sons size is 48-50. its a miracle every time he finds a pair that fits.

If you do not mind paying 500 to 600 rmb then you can find very good shoes in a small shop in shenzhen , it is only 1 hour by boat to get there . I think i will be going there thurs , let me know what you are looking for , they have leather snd good trainers

I got my size 45 and a halves in Macau in that New Yaohan ( or something like that ) shopping mall ( not far from the golden dragon casino and fishermans wharf ). Mmmm, nice steel reinforced shoes to be used on National day hehehe...

how much did they cost

650 RMB approx ( got them from that shop on the ground floor of the New Yaohan shopping mall ( close to the entrance pointing towards the Golden Dragon casino ).
