Snowstorm is terrible, many people can't return to their hometown!

Yes, my assistant just informed me that many people at the GZ railway station are organizing into city groups and are beginning to walk home. Some officials are saying that this may take as much as four months. As such the Chinese Government is thinking of rescheduling Spring Festival for the 1st of May. Source: QQ

I feel sorry for those people stuck in the train station in GZ. We haven`t experienced such cold windy weather for many years.It`s really hard to stand in these freezing and rainy days. Most of the time even in winter,the weather is still fine and comfortable. Hope the weather will be better soon~~ sunshine sunshine!!!

seems I heard from my friend that 20 people died from the cold weather in GZ train station.. not sure whether it is true or not.

I feel terribly guilty, sitting home in front of my heater, whilst those poor souls shiver and weep. What is this world coming to. They need massive evacuations, hot food, blankets and HELP.

Only one holiday to go home and they can't... bloody weather!

yeah...i wish it will be at least 26 degree soon ,because i like t-shirt more than coat ,and also ,i wish everybody who wants to be back to hometown or goes to somewhere dreams come true .so like JJ said "Let's hope it gets warmer soon!"

There was a full on RIOT in the GZ airport today! ARMED riot police totally surrounding one particular check-in area. The throng of people were LIVID. Throwing food and chairs and stuff everywhere. I'd really like to know some follow-up on THAT whole scene!

Thankfully, my flight to Guangxi was only delayed, ahem, four hours...

I am currently freezing my barrs off in Guangxi, as my Chinese buddy Myron would say! Two weeks of local language exposure! No central heating! Lucky me. ;)

This is such a tragedy for so many people who only get to go home once a year to see their family and loved ones and I've been sitting in my home complaining about a little bit of cold. Sometimes when we hear stories like what the people in GZ are going through it makes us realize how fortunate we are.
