Washer & Dryer

This topic has been addressed a few times. You really have to look very carefully and sometimes patiently around to find exactly what you want. Anyway, since you're being specific, here's some options.

1. Taifeng Electrical Store. Gongbei, two blocks south of MacDonald's. It's on the corner before you get to the canal. They stock a number of front end loaders, twins, and top loading machines as well as a few dryers. We bought a Seimen's Front end loader here.

2. We bought our Panasonic Dryer from the electrical store on the second floor of Careforre in Xin Xiangzhou. The store area is just after the stairs on the right which ascend to an electronic games parlor.

3. The Taifeng Stores are all over the place, you can also find one in the Hita Plaza complex in Jida (opposite the Zhuhai Museum). And I think there's one near Jusco as well.

Since we bought our machines, some new angular orbital machines, which claim to use less water that are now available. Seimen's also make a washer and dryer in-one combo which is also available.

Most of the Household Interior Fittings centers are located on the Qianshan side of Ban Zhan Shan, you could try exploring them to see what they have?

You can buy both at Taifeng, Gome, or Suning.

Taifeng's HQ is in QianShan and has the largest selection of all the Taifeng stores. There are also Taifeng's in GongBei and at the Hita Plaza (connected to the Duty Free) in Jida as Doc point out.

There is a Gome in the Hita Plaza in Jida, as well as in QianShan a few blocks from the Taifeng.

Suning has a store in Xiangzhou just down the street from Jusco and another in QianShan just across the street from Taifeng.

The selection of washers is mind-boggling. We have our eyes on either a Panasonic or Sanyo angular orbital machine, 6.5Kg. Both are in the Y4500 range. You can get bigger or smaller and spend more or less.

Panasonic is the only dryer I have seen around. The 4.5Kg (largest) model is Y3800.

Both prices are before any discount, which are quickly offered by the sales staff. And all three stores are very similarly priced.

We arrived here in Aug '07 and found we only had a washer in our apt. Found a Haier clothes dryer (model #GDZ5-1, I think) at Sundan, close to Wan Ja grocery store in Gongbei. Paid 1980 yuan....It works like a charm and dries a tonne of clothes daily, due to the high washload of a family of 5. Hope that helps.....

Hey there, I have never seen a Sundan store. Can you give a more detailed desacription of its location relative to WanJia? Thanks.

It's just downstairs at the back of WanJia. I seem to remember it has this "Sundan" name also next to its chinese name "顺电" up there.
