I'vr heard from several sources that the Super Bowl will be shown on CCTV5 as it was last year. Kickoff should be at about 7:15 Monday morning our time.

We going to Hong Kong, spend
We going to Hong Kong, spend the night tonight, then to bars at Lan Kwai Fong in the morning. All of them guaranteed that they'll be showing the game live. This may seem extreme but being that we're from Boston, we just can't chance it. Go Patriot's!!
Ryans bar has the superbowl
Ryans bar has the superbowl from 6am; game starts @ 7am.

Thanks all! I like Ryan's,
Thanks all! I like Ryan's, but not that early. I will try and catch it on CCTV5. Isen't the Giants the underdogs this year? Since I am from the West Coast and can't holler "GO NINERS'", so i must balance out the cheering section. GO GIANTS!
Sure enough there was SUPER
Sure enough there was SUPER BOWL broad casted on HK's international channel #8 at 7AM. The commentary was in English, and even though there was none of the famous Super Bowl commercials, I was in great mood watching the Giants defense played a great game, until the half time. What followed was 2 hours of mindless continuous infomercials on arthritis and breast enhancement. Had to read the game play-by-play on line. The TV station should have their producers flogged, tied and feathered! ^*<#@>*&!F__%$!@++_==// !! Go GIANTS!
Tarred and feathered.
Tarred and feathered.
It's NOT the Hong Kong
It's NOT the Hong Kong station's fault... It's the F@#$$@&* censorship and propaganda department at Zhuhai tv! Good grief. It's not the big things here that will set one off...it's the little. Like watching the guy stamp the dog poo and the singing pigs during the ABC news. Maybe this will finally be a wake-up call for the complacent foreigners in town who think that things are so great in the Middle Kingdom.
Wait. I'm off topic.
Go Falcons!
Ahem.
I swear that ZHTV, and the
I swear that ZHTV, and the rest of the electronic media here, including our “Great Firewall” internet providers, have got more problems than a Cub Scout spending a night at the Neverland Ranch.
ATV in HK did not preempt the Super Bowl. It was our local “heroes” at ZHTV who decided that it was more important to run those stupid, mail-order “snake oil” commercials than to broadcast the last half of the game. The phone number displayed on the commercials was a local number.
This act of “wisdom” on the part of the programming staff at ZHTV simultaneously threw me back into the “hostility” stage of the cross cultural adjustment model, and convinced me, no matter what hassles may be involved, to dump the ZHTV service and get satellite TV in my home.
The ZHTV programming staff should not be just flogged, tarred and feathered; they should be SUMMARILY EXECUTED IN THE CITY CENTER!!!!

Complacent is a three-syllable word, of which you might know some meaning. With poo and pigs, though, there seems to be familiarity.

I wonder if they had the same problem at Ryan's this morning. I think there is a SAT TV setup there.

i watched the game on ATV in HK and it was shown in full. They even broadcast the trophy ceremony.
I honestly don't believe ZHTV knew or cared about the live sporting event this morning. They probably started the infomercials right on time as they usually do on every other monday morning....
btw, Justice was served - cheaters never win!
Yes, mek...I would concur
Yes, mek...I would concur (two-syllable word) with your opinion. Little Chen is told to flip the switch at 8:30 AM, so come hell or high water he's gonna do it. I do not think it was deliberate censorship here, just a typical example of many Chinese not being able to use lateral thinking and anticipate the fact that, oh, most English-speaking males in Zhuhai would be watching this game.
Idiots.
No wonder Ryan has the staffing problems that he does...
The Super what? Anything to
The Super what? Anything to do with bowling super (superb) over in cricket. !!
Cricket what the hell is
Cricket what the hell is that??? hehe Great game for the Giant's!!! Wish the Packers would have done it!!
Just got back into town from
Just got back into town from Hong Kong after watching the entire game there, about 70 people with table and seats at the bar and more were piled in for standing only. It great to have fellow expats from all over the world to watch the game! A bit depressed now, since the Pat's loss, maybe we should've stayed in Zhuhai so we would've missed the Patriots downfall!
My bar has all the live
My bar has all the live sports you need 3 satalites, just let me know what sport and what time and ill try to be open
Well, seeing as how the
Well, seeing as how the Academy Awards are being shown live and in their ENTIRETY...I am now much more suspicious about what happened to the Super Bowl. Same day--Monday. Same time--8AM. Something just doesn't quite add up here. (But when does it ever in China...)
I had that same thought this
