Sailing club?

I heard you cant own a pleasure boat here?...
Would be great if it was ok . Might be remote controlled Canrun...did you look through your binoculars ?

The name of island mentioned by Canrun is Yeli Dao(island). It means "Wild Fox Island". Once I get any information about the sailing club, I will let you know.

I've also heard the same thing, though now there are a couple of big yachts parked right next to the boat restaurant on Yeli Island (Thanks, Tan!) The sailboats may well be remote controlled, but (even though they are small)they look much too big to be running on batteries.

BTW...the wife made me ditch the binoculars...I was using them for the "wrong reasons"-namely the housewife next door who hangs up the laundry in her knickers! ;)

Update: Tuesday afternoon and they're out there again. I need to get life. Anyhow...

Weird. Maybe the same guys who were practicing impaling each other a few weeks ago in front of Yeli Island are now getting ready to invade Ta--an. By dinghy. Just a theory! (How funny would that be...)

I saw them today from my place in Jida. Definitely too big to be remote control, but they sail around in a group. Interesting.

The Sands bar has a couple of small sailing boats they used to hire out. Don't know if they're still doing it.

Actually a video would be better (proof wise )...in case y steal...copy ... images off the web. Of course the sailors must be Chinese also , so some close-ups .Would be good evidence in your favour Canrun.
Sands bar dingys are only for show. I tried to buy one but was told it was illegal to buy aboat for private use. Tried to convince them I wanted to be a fisherman...but didnt go down too well !
Would be so great if a Sailing Club could be formed.
Who knows...in 35years time we may be allowed to advance to 14 footers !....wowww

I was down at the Jida beach today and saw the two mirrors (Boats ) with main sails on them and up .No rudder or keel. So they are either for rent or they use them for the many wedding parties,being photographed . They had a groom trying to be a cowboy today on a nice looking horse !
I guess there would have been , maybe 8-10 couples today . (business is flourishing in the wedding hire and photography sector !

Ok...here's the latest (in my pitiful life...) The sailboats seem to leave from the jetty that sits next to Yeli island and where all the fishing boats/Macau tours leave from. They kind of go around and around in the little rock enclosure and then head out to the east end of Yeli island. Then they all come back. Good Communists.

I just really wanna know who these folks are in the 8-10 boats that go out every few days. So random!
