no visitors after 12pm

I do not know if any of you have heard but I am at a loss to explain why foreigners in Guangzhou are no longer allowed to have visitors after 12pm? A friend of mine lives there and he was refused entry into his own building the other night because the local police had deemed having visitors after 12pm illegal!
What if he has a visitor over for dinner, does that mean they are going to knock on his door at 12pm and ask his friends to leave? It just stinks, the kind of heavy handed crackdowns that are taking place.. lucky for me we live in an area where it is almost impossible (?) for this kind of crack down to take place; but as I type I touch wood! What do you guys think?

I have never heard of such a thing. Just last week, I have stayed with my foreign friends in Guangzhou with no problem at all. I have read on the news that one girl died half naked under a building in the middle of Guangzhou. The girl is said to be a prostitute and be pushed out of the balcony by three foreigners because of some money issue. Well, it is still under investigation. Maybe that is one of the reasons?

I would like to know the facts on this. The police are not at my apartment door, just the apartment security guards. Seems like a strange tale to me.

I did some research into the girl being killed and it turns out she was thrown from a balcony by 3 Koreans who are now under investigation. not to sure if it was in the same area as where my friend lives. Will keep you updated.
According to the news
According to the news released by police yesterday, the girl did not been thrown out, she was considered "suicide" after a drinking party and broke up with her American boyfriend during the phone.
that makes me wonder...why and how she managed to kill herself with rope around her body?
