More on the HK Aiport Ferry

FYI....

I have a 12:20pm flight to LA. The morning airport ferry leaves at 9:30am. I was told that I could use the ferry, but could not check my baggage in Zhuhai and would have to do it at the airport.

Still an improvement over going through HK, but if the ferry really only takes 50min, then I should be to the airport 2 hours before my flight. I didn't argue.

Has anyone out there taken

Has anyone out there taken this ferry ride. Where does it dock / depart at the HKIA end of things, and where in the hell can one find it in HKIA. I have tried to find it, but failed miserably. The Zhuhai end is easy, but I hesitate to take something unknown when it comes to international connections.

I just took it a few days

I just took it a few days ago from Zhuhai. The SkyPier ferry terminal at HKIA is a bus ride away from the air terminal. So if you are walking around the airport you will never find it. There must be some signage though for the SkyPier.

When I got off the bus, all of the airline check-in counters were right there. They aren't very well marked, though, so you have to look carefully to find the right airline. (United is the first desk on the right hand side).

On the Zhuhai end, they are sticking with their 3 hour cut-off.....that is, if your flight is not more than 3 hours from the time the ferry departs Zhuhai you will A) have to carry on your luggage and then check it yourself at the airport, or B) not take the ferry at all. I don't know what the time cut-off for option B is. But my flight was 2:50 from ferry departure....they let me on the ferry, but would not check my bag.
