Mixed martial arts in Zhuhai

Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Zhuhai next week and am curious if there are any martial arts schools in the area. I saw a thread about a muay Thai gym that may or may not still be around, but I'm also interested in training wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and boxing.

I taught a mixed martial arts class in America for one year, so if there are no teams in Zhuhai I will try to start a group on my own at a local training facility. If anyone else is interested in these activities, feel free to send me a private message on here or an e-mail at jdhalvorson@gmail.com

You should contact the new health club in Huafa New Town called the "Ultimate Club". They are big on hiring foreign staff. The GM is Scottish name Walt. If you need details write me privately.

I'm not so sure about the "Ultimate Club", it's more like a health resort where people go for swims, aerobic classes, joggs and sauna. But they probably can use a tai bo instructor.

For some serious mixed artial arts, I doubt there is a facility in Zhuhai.  You probably have to start your own.  I have done some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from way back that I have forgotten most of it.  But if you need a training partner, or more like someone you can throw around, let me know.  We can probably find a Judo place and start from there.

Not to rain on your parade, or anything, but, The Ultimate Club - great place that it is, is way beyod the means of most people... which is a fact or you need to consider regarding potential students or practicing partners. My advice, check The Ultimate Club out, you might just like it, alternatively see what fusions exist by liasing with the fitness club on the 5th floor of Jusco. Seems to me that most of your potential clientel may actually be based in Xingzhou, not Nanping.

I'll be in Zhuhai for April

I'll be in Zhuhai for April - May and would love to do any martial arts. I do mostly aikido these days but have a judo and karate background. I'm up for anything at all.

I tried to post a reply earlier, but its not showing. There is an IOGKF dojo. That's full contact goju-ryu karate btw. My ex-collegue trained there before leaving Zhuhai for another job. You can see the dojo on youtube, search under "Okinawan Karate Conditioning" the video posted by "pecherin72". The plaque in the beginning clearly said in Kanji "zhuhai dojo". I don't know where in Zhuhai but I'm sure if you ask the guy who posted it, he'll tell you where it is.
