GongBei port building - Getting a visum

Tags:

Is anyone going thru the GongBei port building to Macau and coming back in the next day or 2?
I need to know if you can still get a visum in that office just in front of the immigration counters ( when you come back from Macau ).

I assume that by “visum”

I assume that by “visum” you mean “visa”. Whether or not you can obtain one at the Gongbei border crossing depends on your nationality. I know that Americans, Canadians, and British cannot. They must obtain their visas before they leave their home countries, or they can obtain them in either Macau or Hong Kong. The processing time for the visas in either place can be as little as one day (apply in the morning and pick it up the same afternoon), but it can get expensive. The prices vary according to nationality. I’m American, and recently got two visas in Macau at the Chinese consulate. My wife, who is Thai, and I both applied at 10am on one day, and picked them 24 hours later. The total price for her visa was HK$300, but mine was HK$950. Both visas are 30-day, multiple- entry visas, which is the longest they would issue to us.

Hehe, my wife already did a

Hehe, my wife already did a while ago. For me and my son its ok to go there. Fine for us as we prefer not to go to that sportscenter place. We had an unpleasant encounter / f'up with one of the employees there which costed us a lot of time last time.

You can get visas at the CTS

You can get visas at the CTS office in Macau on the same day. The office is just down the road from the Lisboa. If you are there before 10am, you can pick up your new visa at 4:30pm. I know two people (both Americans though) who did this recently. One got a 6 month multiple entry and the other got a 1 year multiple entry. Cost for the 6 month was 1600rmb. The 1 year was a bit more.

"I know that Americans,

"I know that Americans, Canadians, and British cannot."

I know that Americans cannot get a visa at the border, but since when did this apply to Canadians and British?

Can someone verify this?

I was told, at the Gongbei

I was told, at the Gongbei border, about the visa resrictions for Americans, Canadians, and British about 13 months ago. Knowing how things here can change so rapidly, however, it is entirely possible that the situation is completely different now. I was only relating my own experience. I hope that I haven't caused too much confusion.
