Don't go to the hot springs.
Don't go to the hot springs. It's a real disappointment, especially after living in Japan for a few years. I'm sure others will give their two cents' worth about things to do in town. Have a look around the web site...you're gonna find enough stuff to keep you occupied for the three months. (After that, um...good luck.)
Oh...go to "Taipa Village" in Macau for authentic Portuguese food!

Hi Karl, welcome to Zhuhai.
Hi Karl, welcome to Zhuhai. A lot depends on where you live and what you want to do.
If personalised satisfaction is your game, there are plenty of ways of being satisfied, and cheaply. When I was first in Zhuhai it was off to the foot massage every 2nd day - it was sort of a comfort zone to have some familiar faces to "speak" to.
If walking the streets holding your GF's hand is your go, Zhuhai has many great parks and a fantastic walking trail along the seashore. Maybe hire a tandem cycle.
There are also several theme / adventure parks. I often bus it to Guangzhou and along that road are several quite big theme parks - and I think a large zoo. I never get to see them myself.
For me, just walking the streets and cruising the shops and backstreets is interesting enough. Gonbei is sleezy enough in areas to be very interesting, and there are one or three "bar" streets / areas about the vicinity as well.
The more Mandarin you can speak the easier it is for all. The locals are quite friendly and well used to westerners. Always keep some tissues in the back pocket and only drink bottled water. That just leave the food to worry about - and most of it is pretty good.
Yes, welcome to Zhuhai Wish
Yes, welcome to Zhuhai
Wish you good luck to find the life here different and interesting.
Come out to Pingsha and
Come out to Pingsha and check out Ocean Springs (it is at the end of the 608 bus route from Gongbei) It is a five star hotel with health resort, beach and an amusment park with a samll roller coaster. They also have live shows in a theatre there.
Hey!! Thanks for the
Hey!!
Thanks for the tips!!
Ive been out walking around town all weekend... Seems like a good place to hang for a couple of months. A lot more chilled out and pleasant than Beijing (and alot of other places around Asia)...
Ive been a bit around Asia but not too much in China, but I was relived this weekend to find that all places dont just serve chicken feet and fish head soup.. :-)
I love the food at the Golden Elephant!!
So where do you recomend for a good massage with NO funny stuff...
Also I was looking for the Rude place today, its suppoesed to be a good bar, but could find it, i though I would be up by the duty free mall...

In the JIDA area there are
In the JIDA area there are dozens of them. But the only ones I know how to describe are .... On ShiHua Rd., across from the Jewel of Indian / Alain Bar is a place with flashing Neon lights in the shape of dozens of of feet and 28RMB (for an hour), it's the easiest to find and access and they have many foreigners. On ZhuiZhou Rd half way along is the Chang an hotel (3rd floor) and further down towards the Gongbei end is the Da Ming Yuan hotel (3rd floor (not the 4th floor)). These 3 are quite good. Don't get sucked in for a 2nd hour.
The cleanest place I have
The cleanest place I have found for no hanky panky massage is next to the Harbour View Hotel on Lover's Road in Jida. It's is a little more expensive (38/hour), but you can shower for free and the rooms and chairs are very clean. You can pay 60/hour and get one of their teachers and you will not regret it. I need deep therapeutic back massage and these guys are great.
For the extra 10 quai I prefer the cleanliness of this place. You can take the 99 bus to get there.
Hi, Carl, welcome to zhuhai!
Hi, Carl, welcome to zhuhai! hope you enjoy your life in alien land.As one of the most beautiful cities in china....zhuhai is attractive to many foriegners....
1,If you want to go to bar...As Roy said.
Shuiwantou Bar street is an ideal place to visit..
2,if you want to go countryside for leisure..maybe Qiao island(the second biggest island in zhuhai) and Tangjia town are good choices
3,For amusements....Pearl land or Apple land or Ocean Springs
however, it really depends on personal taste...here I do agree with Roy..sometimes...."just walking the streets and cruising the shops and backstreets is interesting enough"
Anyway, good luck!
