Advice on best option for getting to Zhuhai
Tags:
I will be traveling to Zhuhai at least once a month for the foreseeable future and need some advice on getting from HKIA to Zhuhai. I found all of the ferry schedules, Macau to Zhuhai info, etc on the site which was very helpful but I still have a question. I will be flying in on United Airlines from Chicago and the flight lands at 18:00. The last ferry from HKIA direct to Zhuhai is 17:00. The way I see it I have a couple options:
1 - Take ferry from HKIA to Shekou then another one from Shekou to Zhuhai. (This is what I did last month when I went for the first time. It seemed like there had to be a better way.)
2 - Take taxi from HKIA to Central or Kowloon ferry terminal and then direct ferry to Zhuhai.
3 - Take ferry from HKIA to Macau then cab to border/Zhuhai.
Any advice on which option would be the easiest, one to avoid, or others?
Thanks,
Robert

Based on my own
Based on my own experience:
Option 1 takes the least efforts;
Option 2 can be quite costly, both money and time wise, because you can only go to Central while the last ferry from Kowloon leaves at 17:30, the taxi ride to go there is not cheap crossing the long way, and if you can't catch the 19:30 ferry at Central(either you too late or tickets sold out, which is quite likely if it's on a weekend), you have only the 21:30 ferry to take back to Zhuhai;
Option 3 is a safe bet, but again you may have to wait in long queue at the Gongbei border if it's a busy day, an alternative is that you taxi from Macau ferry to the Hengqin border to cross over to Zhuhai, where there is no queque, but the problem is you need to have some one waiting for you at the Zhuhai side to pick you up, as normally there's no taxi waiting outside the Hengqin border...
I would suggest: Take the
I would suggest:
Take the high speed train from airport to central.
Have dinner in HK
Take the last ferry (21:30) to Zhuhai.
Let's hope that one day they can deciude to add a ferry at 8:30pm... because it's so absurd not to have one at that time...

i take the bus from the airport to kowloon[cheap, quite fast] then ferry to zhuhai. not perfect, but one of the most economical/reliable options.
I think JJ is on the right
I think JJ is on the right track. Either spend the 100 bucks for the train to central (20 minutes) and then hop a cab (5 minutes) to the ferry or take the bus (A11) to the ferry terminal in Central from the airport. I think the bus is only 40 bucks and its about a 45 minute ride. Drops you off right at the ferry.
Option #1 all the way. I had
Option #1 all the way. I had to do it when I got back from the States in November and it worked like a charm. No hassle whatsoever and well worth what may be a little extra money. Just one guy's opinion...

Option 1: I travel in on a by monthly basis, its easer and a lot less hassel with imigration ect
Another option is to fly
Another option is to fly into Guangzhou instead of HK. You can get a bus from GZ airport to Zhuhai.
