Studio / Workshops

To anybody with an opinion,
Hi all, this is very preliminary but I would really like to get some input and even maybe take a bit of a survey as to the general interest in Zhuhai for a photo studio that would not only offer structured workshops, exhibitions and courses, but could also be made available for use by the general public.
This has been something I have wanted to put together for quite awhile now and an opportunity to put it together may have just come up. If the workshops and courses interest you, can you give me an idea of the content, duration and so forth that might work. If a series of seminars were arranged would running them weekly or monthly be better?
As for the studio being open for public use, what kind of gear would you expect to have available? Everything from the camera on up to the wardrobe? Or perhaps just the lighting and backdrops?
In the two years + that I have lived in Zhuhai I have met a few pro photographers that I am sure would be keen to run either an exhibit or an advanced seminar.
Any feedback would be appreciated. I know there are many people here that enjoy photography at many levels and your opinion matters.
Regards,
Doug

Doug, PM me. I have some
Doug,
PM me. I have some ideas about this.

"I can't get no respect.............. no respect at all!"
Sounds like a great idea.
Sounds like a great idea. I've always wanted to get into photography but never seemed to have the time. I take lots of photos but for sure I'm a fumbling idiot who hasn't a clue what to do. Bought an expensive camera and let it do all the work but would really like to know what to do with it to expand the possibilities. "P" mode only takes you so far... Courses would be great.
A studio would also be fantastic. I don't think you'd have to provide cameras as anyone who is likely to want to get into this would probably have gone that far at least.
Lighting and backdrops and a few props.
A tri-pod or two so people don't need to lug there own over.
Darkroom and supplies in case anyone is still on film.
Small rest area that hopefully would be smoke-free.
Possibly a contact book of models that are available in the area.
Electrical outlets and maybe a few battery chargers to cover Canon/Nikon.
A computer for reviewing shots on a bigger screen but I would steer clear of providing editing software otherwise you're going to have people there for hours on end. They could use your computer for a quick review then edit at home.
A Cork board (Bulletin board) for people to post their cards, notes to others, etc.
I would suggest a requiring a deposit against damages.
Courses could run from beginner to advanced but if you do too many too often you will infringe on the availability of the actual studio unless it is of a larger size.
Hope you do it. It's a great idea. I would try harder myself to learn and play if there were more of this available.
