Camera trade-ins?

I was contemplating a D80 but ended up with a D40X as I liked the small size more than anything else. Damn near bought the Olympus as it's even smaller but hated the lenses.

Mind you if the price is right, you could tempt me into the D80 as the lack of some functions is making me reconsider the D40X.

I have a Nikon 18-55 Lens for sale as well - when I buy the next bit of glass on Monday.

I think I prefer to sell to a dealer and be done with it. Not that I expect problems but you never know.

When you sell to someone you know, or even an acquaintance there is a bit of an "implied guarantee", and people come back to you if there is a problem. Happened to me twice when I sold a car. Nothing wrong when I sold it. 11 year old car. 8 months after I sold it the buyer comes back saying there was a problem developing?? 8 months later? Crazy. Joe's Used Car lot I ain't!

Anyway, thanks but I'll sell to a Camera dealer. They can check it out & if they are satisfied, done deal. No further contact, end of story.

I'll go to those shops in HK, TST, Champagne Court next week and see what kind of price they'll offer.

Re the above, I fully understand. I bought the Nikon 16 - 85 VR lens, and it's a beauty. Highly recommended, although more expensive than it should be (in HK) as it's new and in short(ish) supply. Now I have a spare Nikon 18 - 55 lens going unused.
