George Carlin; dead at 71.

On the 22nd of June, George Carlin, perhaps the greatest stand-up comedian and social satirist in recent American history, died of heart failure. Over a career that spanned more than 50 years, George Carlin took great joy in skewering the “sacred cows” of not only the American, but the entire world’s establishment. He railed against the hypocrisy of: political correctness, religion, politics, politicians, and contemporary society; and he did it in such a comedic way that he would leave mass audiences rolling on the floor in laughter. He will be greatly missed by all of those with any more than a gram of grey matter between their ears.
