Dance studios and gyms in Zhuhai

Hi all,
I have been searching for a semi-professional dance studio and a well-equipped gym in Zhuhai, any leads??
PS. Anybody interested at forming a dance group here locally? We will dance mainly in hip hop, jazz/technique.

What do you mean by
What do you mean by well-equipped gym?
What I mean was a clean
What I mean was a clean atmosphere and well sanitized gym. With the usual gym equipments: treadmills, hill climbers, weights, mats, fitness balls, dance classes, yoga classes. Really, just no mildews build up on their equipments and mats.
D1 Fitness in the Duty Free
D1 Fitness in the Duty Free Shopping Center in Jida (6th floor) is not too bad. We recently joined and have been going 2-3 times per week. Lots of treadmills, but no stair steppers or ellipticals. The weights are pretty good, both machines (Body Solid from the US) and free weights. They have yoga, dance aerobics, step, and spinning classes several times each week and they are well attended. They also have fitness balls which I have never seen in use. Three are always 2-3 trainers in attendance. The showers are relatively clean (at least the men's). The towels are small and interestly enough there are no bathroom facilities. If you need to go, you have to use the public facilities around the corner. No sign of mildew yet, but this is a pretty new place.

Sign me up for some dance!
Sign me up for some dance! I'm doing some Chinese dance right now with my students- but would love to take an adult class in anything- ballet, tap, hip hop, salsa.......... I know a woman who teaches ballet but don't know of anyone who teaches any other kind of dance. Keep me posted.
you can join us for latin
you can join us for latin dance every thursday evening 9pm at the rude bar (see a to z for rude bar or the events page)... We usually start with a basic course in various latin dances and then you can practice with partners on the floor.
Tomorrow (Thursday 27) I have a friend from Hangzhou coming who might teach a basic course in hip-hop as well at the beginning of the evening (9pm)
I know where can learn
I know where can learn international latin. But they are Chinese teachers. I find that it is very hard for a Chinese teacher to teach foreigners to dance in Chinese. Si I wonder if your guys would like to go there to learn dancing.

There's a new gym that just opened in the Jusco building in Xiangzhou. It has all new equipment and I am a member so I can vouch (not sure of spelling) for the gym. They have all different dance classes, hot yoga, spinning classes. they also offer massages and facials and things of that nature to the ladies. The gym is called Jourdeness and is located on the 5th floor of the Jusco building and I can get anyone who would like to join a discount. They are also looking for a native english speaker to teach dance part time. Too bad I have 2 left feet.

Bruce or Anu...would you mind telling Zuber about this? Seriously...may be a little extra money (and a chance for the Dance Master to expand his phone list. Hehe.) Sorry-this is not meant to be an "in" thing. We all happen to know a very capable dance instructor.
The newly opened "Ultimate
The newly opened "Ultimate Club" in Huafa New Town is very posh, well equipped, and EXPENSIVE! All the equipment is state of the art. They have an Olympic size out door pool, and a heated indoor pool. They have excellent yoga and dance classes. One of the Yoga instructor is from India and a Salsa/Samba teacher from Rio, Brazil. The health and sanitary standards is impeccable. The ladies will love the spa, the equipment and decor is nothing short of fabulous, but, again, EXPENSIVE. You are talking about 1,000RMB and up for a session.
The GM is from Scotland and his assistant an American educated Chinese. To sum it up, the name "Ultimate Club" may be a little cheesy, but it really does rivals any 6 star world class resort. It is great if you can afford it.

Seeing as how my meager teacher's salary does not allow me to be part of the Huafa crowd in any way, shape or form I guess my Tai Tai will have to find other ways to keep herself occupied.
Man, there are days when I envy those expense account fat cats. But not often, though...
