I have been told there are going to be major changes in the rules for the various types of visas, have many you can have in your passport, how long you can stay etc. I was told this was part of the Olympic preparations; anyone else heard about this?

This could be a really bad development if it turns out to be true. I would certainly like to know more if anyone out there has heard anything.
Just found out they have
Just found out they have made it extremely difficult to change visa types, a chinese friend told me. I am waiting for the news to be translated into an English version.
Went to the PSB office by
Went to the PSB office by the Sports stadium and they could'nt extend a visa issued earlier that day at the port (jiu zhou). Before July they could, now we have to leave the mainland to get an l visa and then wait for the z permit paperwork to go through which now takes longer.
My friend's employer was more shocked as they did'nt know changes had been made to the procedure.
CS22- a friend read it in a chinese newspaper, we are still waiting for it to be printed in English.If you find it holla back.

If everything goes right and you have all the paperwork in order it usually takes about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks.
