Finally, here is my 2 cents worth on the photo shoot tomorrow (Sunday). First of all, hats off to Doc for getting the ball rolling on the E9 site. He tells me there are several people here that like the idea of not only the shoot, but of forming a local camera club. I would love to talk more about the camera club but first things first... the shoot...
A friend of mine with a mini-van will join us and he is also going to see if a couple of his buddies with cars will come along too, so there should be ample space to get 'mods', 'togs' and gear to wherever this "Mystery Flight" will take us.
"Mods & Togs" - From the current count I believe we are at about 5 photographers and 3 or 4 models. More of each are certainly welcome.
"Gear" - You are encouraged to bring along whatever you would like. Models, if you want to bring along a change of outfit I am sure we can find or if we have to, construct some sort of change area. Props are always nice. I'm pretty pumped as I just went shopping and picked up a few Samari swords, and I also have some other bits to offer the models to use or to have as backdrops.
Photographers are encouraged to bring along what the want also. If you have reflectors, tripod, so on and so on feel free to get it out. I will be bringing along some studio lights and portable battery packs so if your camera has a hotshoe or a plug in for external flash you are welcome to take a turn at using them.
"Dinner" - After we take the final image and get our gear packed up I look forward to having a fun social time around the dinner table. I hope to have a little bit of conversation about the founding of a camera club too...
That's enough out of me for now. The link to my website is below and my contact info is all there. If there are any questions or if you are trying to get Doc but can't you are welcome to give me a shout anytime.
Hi guys, are you planning on having more of these shoots in the future? I didnt attend the first one,but wouldnt mind to check out the other ones...if they will ever happen :)
Cheers!
short answer is, "yes". If you'd like to join in please pm me with your contact details and I'll add you to our mailing list.
Anyone else interested in participating in some organised photographic events as a photographer, model, 'tog's assistant, makeup artist, hair stylist, etc. please by all means send me a PM with your contact details.
Our gorup, LENZ, will shortly set up a blog here on Expat9, as well as a dedicated site for posting lots of pics, and profiles. In the meantime we are setting up a newsletter as an avenue of ongoing communications. Be one of the first to subscribe, by sending me your contact details.
regards,
T. Tempest. DCA
