New life in ZhuHai

Tags:

Yesterday Friday 28th March, was a long day for me. The ‘almost’ end of a very traumatic phase in my life.

A really long story sort we (my wife and I) had a Baby boy.
You can see in the photos that ZhuHai does have a heart monitor. I know I paid for it, lol.

My Baby was born at 9:36 Beijing time, premature at 31 weeks, and weighing 1.4Kg. The good new is he is breathing on his own. (With a little help for a 6000RMB drug). The first 3 days will be the most difficult, but all looks like it is going to be fine.

The hard part is over.

My wife Susie is in ICU (and they know how to charge for that too) she is expected to be there for 3 days too. But again the hard part for her is over, she survived the operation and so now her heart should start to get better.

Basically the pregnancy made her heart not work properly (idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy). Now the baby is out, she should make a good recovery.

I hope you like the photos.

All joke aside, ‘Zhong Da Wo Yuan’ is a very good hospital with really good Doctors.
The communication about what is going on from the Doctors is good. If you can get one. The non life threatening things are dealt with some what less professionally. I.E. Having been their for two solid days, talking about things with the Doctors and nurses, and paying them what they asked for, then the moment I get home I am told I must go back to pay more money or they will not give medicine to my baby or my wife. (Happened twice, now). They say it is a misunderstanding.

Total bill paid to date: 38000RMB
No including previous check-ups, other hospitals visited, or my English Doctor that provides me with advice.
