Macau Cycling Trip, Oct 27th, 2007

Here are a few photos from the wonderful cycling tour we had around Macau last Saturday, 27th Oct. Many thanks to golden_gate88 who organized the trip.
We met at the Gongbei port at 8:30am and walked our bikes through the normal immigration process. At first I didn't think this would be possible, but we made it through with no problems. We then proceeded on a figure 8 tour of the main Macau island, taking in sites such as the old opium dens, the ruins of St Paul's cathedral, the old fort next to St Paul's, Macau tower and the incredible bungee jumping set up there, and the Barra/Matsu Temple. There is a great deli with wonderful breads and cheeses downstairs at the Macau tower if you are ever there.
We stopped for Starbuck's in the morning, had lunch at a local Portuguese restaurant, had Hagen Daz in the afternoon, then finished it all off with a quick shopping trip to the New Yaohan department store for cheeses and assorted other Western delights (like real live Dr. Pepper soda!!!). What more could you ask for?
The cycling was very easy as most of the drivers in Macau give bikes the right of way (what a change!) and the terrain was very flat. We all had a great time and we had to extend the return time by almost 2 hours.
We all look forward to round 2!
