ZIS: Professional Development Training

Zuhai International School conducted an International Baccalaureate - Primary Years Programme(PYP) professional training to all teaching staff at the term break on Friday.

Ms Meryl Siggs, who is a well-trained and experienced IB-Coordinator, traveled from the Western International School of Shanghai, our partner School in Shanghai to conduct the training.

The purpose of this training was to offer our teaching staff a deeper and comprehensive IB PYP concept to make sure all children at ZIS gain the benefit to be able to be active, compassionate and lifelong learners.

A PYP school should provide students with learning experiences that are engaging, relevant, challenging and significant, in learning environments that are stimulating and provocative. The focus of teaching content is to enable teachers to make connections between learners' existing knowledge and their individual learning styles in the context of new experiences.

It is our responsibility as educators to recognize and maximize this crucial stage of learning.
