A new International School in Zhuhai!

Zhuhai International School is a new international school opening in September 2007 from Nursery (3 year olds) to Grade 2 (7-8 year olds). We will expand to offer up to Grade 13 in subsequent years and also offer boarding facilities for students.

History of School
ZIS was given official approval by the Zhuhai government to operate as an international school in 2004. The school's educational development and philosophy is supported by an Advisory Board of educational experts from leading American universities including the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University.

International Curriculum
ZIS is exploring the academic programs of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), a universally-recognized curriculum that is accepted in universities around the world. More information about the IB can be found at www.ibo.org.

Co-teacher model for Bicultural and Bilingual Learning
ZIS' teaching model consists of two experienced and fully-qualified teachers, one Western and one Chinese, in every classroom. This provides students with individualized attention and an opportunity to learn both English and Chinese.

Chinese Language Learning
As an international school in China, we respect and appreciate the language of our host country. Students at ZIS learn Mandarin Chinese (Putonghua) every day and we offer both Native and Non-Native streams.

English Language Immersion
At ZIS, the medium of instruction is in English. We offer an intensive English language support program for non-Native English language speakers.

Location
We are located on Qi Ao Island, a beautiful resort town approximately 20 minutes from Zhuhai city center. The natural and peaceful surrounding provides an excellent learning environment for students.
