THE exhibition “Civilization on Horseback -- Nomad Cultural Relics Collection of Inner Mongolia” opened on March 15 and will last three months at Zhuhai Museum in Jiuzhou Town, Jida.

Cosponsored by the Inner Mongolia Research Institute of Culture Relics & Archeology, Museum of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Zhuhai Museum, the exhibition covers five historical periods. They are Spring & Autumn, Warring States Period, Han Dynasty -- North Wei Dynasty, Liao Dynasty -- Western Xia Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty -- Qing Dynasty, and modern time. A collection of 180 pieces concern nearly 30 ancient sites and graves, including the excavated Tuchengzi site of Helingeer County in the 1980s, one of the biggest and best-preserved ancient town ruins in Inner Mongolia with the longest time span. Also to be seen is the Chen Kingdom Princess grave, the best-preserved Liao Dynasty royal grave ever excavated. In addition, clothes and accessories, tableware, horse-head string instruments, saddlery and weapons are exhibited.
