Eurythmy to be shown

EURYTHMY, a movement art originated by Rudolf Steiner in conjunction with Marie von Sivers in the early 20th century, will be shown at the Guangdong Modern Dance Co small theatre, 13 Shuiyin Road Guangzhou, at 11am to 12:30pm and 3:30-5pm on Sunday. A two-hour workshop on the art will be held at 6:30pm. Andrea vonwurm, a famous Eurythmy artist who graduated from a Waldorf school, will perform.
Steiner called the new art “visible speech” and “visible singing.” Colour in costuming and stage-lighting, live speech and live music together with expressive movement create a complete experience for the audience. Eurythmic movement becomes an ideal medium to express contemporary spiritual experience and educational Eurythmy is a subject taught at Steiner (Waldorf) Schools and in evening classes worldwide. Eurythmy therapy is practised in many hospitals and clinics.
