THE city Environmental Protection Administration announced on Thursday, World Environment Day, that air quality was excellent on 216 days and good on 149 days last year, accounting for 59.18 and 40.82 per cent of the total.
The sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and breathable particle average day concentration were up to national standards. The sulfur dioxide concentration dropped by 20 per cent and nitrogen dioxide 2.8 per cent compared with the pervious year.
All drinking water sources met national criteria, a slight rise over the 99.43 per cent in 2006.
